Actem News Africa can reliably report that CIS David Adebambo, Comptroller of Immigration, Lagos State Command has just retired from the Nigeria Immigration Service in grand style. It was also symbolic because of his 60th birthday celebration on the same day, a double celebration graced by top dignitaries from different parts of Nigeria and beyond. 




The retirement/pulling out parade event which also doubles as his 60th birthday celebration was really a beautiful spectacle to behold. 

The ceremony was held at the Lagos State Command, Alagbon close, Ikoyi, Lagos State. 




The event was attended by high ranking security officers from security and paramilitary organizations such as the Nigerian Army, FCID Police Force, EFCC, NSCDC, Nigeria Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Correctional Services etc

Members of the Ecowas community, Corporate world etc came in their high numbers to honour him with their presence. 



The retirement/pulling out parade was held to mark the compulsory retirement of CIS D.O Adebambo in recognition of his outstanding achievements, steadfast professionalism, and unwavering commitment to upholding human rights and promoting excellence in the Nigeria Immigration Service. 



Speaking during the goodwill messages segment, well wishers commended CIS DO Adebambo for his exemplary service and commendable track record both within Nigeria and beyond. He described him as a beacon of integrity and a true role model in law enforcement paramilitary arm of the government especially on border protection and territorial integrity. 

They praised his efforts in the fight against crime, to promote the good image of the Immigration Service and to strengthen national security under his leadership at NIS Lagos State command. In their speeches they also praised his zero-tolerance stance on corruption and his dedication to maintaining a high standard of integrity, in line with the vision of the Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service, Abuja. 


In addition, the press who came out enmasse 
to cover the event were specially appreciated by CIS Adebambo who is known for being media friendly. 



The presence of the media confirms a mutually beneficial working relationship between them and the Nigeria Immigration Service. 



CIS DO Adebambo was honored and recognized 
for his hard work, professionalism, and dedication within the Nigeria Immigration Service for over 32 years of active service at different capabilities and capacities both locally and internationally. 



In his response, CIS Adebambo expressed heartfelt appreciation to his fellow officers, family members, friends and the organizations delegation for the honour. He also appreciated the press, acknowledging the vital role of the media in crime prevention and law enforcement, emphasizing the importance of sustained collaboration between the Nigeria Immigration Service and media professionals. He encouraged the groups to continue their advocacy and pledged his support for joint efforts aimed at achieving lasting, positive change in Nigeria even after retirement. 


It's worthy to note that CIS David Adebambo has spent over 32 years in the Nigeria Immigration service and retired on Monday, 16th of June, 2025.


CIS D.O. Adebambo took out time to appreciate and celebrate the 
Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Kemi Nanna Nandap. He thanked her for giving him the opportunity to serve in the capacity as the Comptroller of Immigration service, Lagos State. 


DCI MU Abang, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the Lagos command. She eulogized his good works, leadership skills and professionalism he displayed during his active years and most especially when he took over as Comptroller of Immigration, Lagos State Command in October 2024. She prayed for his success even as he retired. 


The Nigeria Immigration Service is responsible for border control, managing migration, and ensuring national security.


Guests were furthermore invited to EKO hotel and suites at Victoria Island Lagos for a grand reception.
