FOUR SUSPECTS FOR VANDALIZING SCHOOL TRANSFORMER IN BUNZA TOWN.
On the 10th September, 2015 at about 0300hrs, the Divisional Police Officer, Bunza, received a credible intelligence that, a gang of unidentified hoodlums have criminally trespassed into the premises of the Government Girl Secondary School, along Dakingari road, Bunza.
Acting promptly on the information, the DPO responded by mobilizing a combined team of Policemen and vigilantes to scene, where they met the suspects were using a chainsaw and other mechanical instruments in vandalizing the school transformer after removing the transformer nuts and disconnected the armored cable wires. Hence, one black Toyota Corolla, Eagle Eyes, vehicle with registration number KNT-359-SN, Niger state, was recovered at the scene. Similarly, one Sanusi Muhammad and Ibrahim Lawal all m of Sokoto state were also arrested, while others took to their heels.
When the scene was searched, it was discovered that, the suspects have already tied up the school watchman, one Muhammad Danda Masa Nasharu m of Bunza town, before proceeding to vandalized the school transformer.
Upon a discreet investigation at the state Criminal investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, the remaining fleeing suspects namely Tasi'u Abubakar and Tasi'u Abdullahi all m of Zamfara State were also arrested. Furthermore, the vandalized armored cable wires together with the tools used in commiting the crime were also recovered from the suspects.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing at the state Criminal Investigation Department, Birnin Kebbi, and the suspects are going to be arraigned in court for diligent prosecution.
In the light of the above significant breakthrough, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani had commended the professionalism and swift response exhibited by the DPO Bunza and vigilantes in arresting the suspects at the scene. Noting the importance of sustaining collaboration between the police and members of the public. He also reiterated, that prevention of crimes remain the best strategy in safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens.
The CP emphasized the Command's readiness on its continued efforts to rid Kebbi State of violent crimes with a view to ensuring a safe and secure environment.
CP Bello M Sani equally appealed to the good people of Kebbi State to remain vigilant and continue to provide the police and other security agencies with a credible information for immediate response, please.
