Honourable Minister Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa Congratulates Sandra Njoku-Samuel on Appointment as Head of Media, Communications and Public Diplomacy, Directorate of Tourism Africa – International Society of Diplomats

The International Society of Diplomats (ISD) has formally appointed Sandra Njoku-Samuel as Head of Media, Communications and Public Diplomacy for the Directorate of Tourism Africa. In this capacity, she will oversee strategic diplomatic communication, press relations, digital engagement and public diplomacy initiatives that promote tourism, cultural exchange and international cooperation across Africa and beyond.

The Honourable Minister, who received Sandra’s appointment certificates with pride, expressed deep satisfaction at the recognition of her staff on the international stage and reaffirmed her commitment to nurturing young professionals driving Nigeria’s creative economy, tourism and soft power diplomacy. Her appointment reflects the confidence of the International Society of Diplomats in her professionalism, dedication and ability to advance strategic communication, tourism diplomacy and cultural cooperation across Africa.

Sandra expressed deep appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, for her guidance, support and confidence in her capacity to serve. She affirmed that the Minister has been a vessel of divine guidance in her journey and that she remains fully committed to the Minister’s vision of repositioning Nigeria’s creative and tourism sectors globally. She noted that this new appointment further strengthens her capacity to promote the Honourable Minister’s vision for Nigeria on the global stage. Sandra also acknowledged Mr. Faiz Imam, Chief Principal Advisor to the Honourable Minister, describing him as a genius guide whose wisdom, mentorship and brilliance continue to elevate her path.

She extended her gratitude to Ambassador Phil Roberts, Director of Tourism Africa, and the ISD Executive Council for entrusting her with this responsibility. She also paid homage to the distinguished ISD National Patrons in Nigeria, including H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, Former President of Nigeria; H.R.H. Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, Etsu Nupe; and H.R.M. Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, noting that these revered leaders embody the vision and dignity of the International Society of Diplomats.

The International Society of Diplomats is a globally recognised organisation advancing diplomacy through cultural exchange, tourism, trade, investment, peacebuilding and international cooperation. Launched in Nigeria on 17 December 2024, the organisation provides a platform for governments, diplomatic communities, institutions and individuals to collaborate in addressing global challenges and opportunities. ISD works in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and promotes dialogue and development across tourism, youth, gender, culture, education and environmental sectors.

Speaking on her appointment, Sandra pledged to use her expertise to advance tourism diplomacy and the African creative economy on the world stage. She stated that this is more than a role and that it is a call to responsibility, adding that she is committed to projecting Africa’s rich culture, tourism potential and creative excellence with authenticity and global resonance.
