In a significant move to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and the Republic of Austria, the Ambassador of Austria to Nigeria, His Excellency Ambassador Peter Guschelbauer, received Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko, Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, alongside Mrs. Laila Charani Nwoko, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MNS Travels and Tours Agency, during a high-level courtesy visit at the Austrian Embassy in Abuja.The meeting focused on expanding cooperation across diplomacy, tourism development, parliamentary engagement and people-to-people exchange, with MNS Travels and Tours Agency presented as a strategic private-sector partner committed to facilitating structured, compliant and purpose-driven international travel between Nigeria and Austria.Ambassador Guschelbauer shared insights from his diplomatic experience and reaffirmed Austria’s openness to deeper engagement with Nigeria, particularly in areas of cultural exchange, tourism promotion and institutional collaboration. 



He highlighted the value of exposure, resilience and cross-cultural understanding, especially for young professionals and future leaders navigating international careers.Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko, a serving member of the Nigerian Senate and an experienced advocate of international cooperation, spoke on the importance of structured travel, educational exposure and parliamentary collaboration in strengthening bilateral relationships. 

He referenced Austria’s rich cultural heritage, historical depth and tourism appeal, noting the role of organised international visits in fostering understanding and long-term cooperation between nations.A key outcome of the engagement was the discussion around exploring a parliamentary friendship framework between the Austrian Parliament and the Nigerian National Assembly, aimed at strengthening legislative cooperation and mutual learning between both federal systems.


 The Ambassador also referenced recent high-level engagements between Nigeria and Austria, including ministerial visits, diplomatic meetings at the United Nations General Assembly, and Nigeria’s successful green bond issuance on the Austrian capital market, supporting investments in renewable energy, agriculture and sustainable infrastructure.Speaking on the role of the private sector, Mrs. Laila Charani Nwoko, Founder and CEO of MNS Travels and Tours Agency, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting diplomatic objectives through structured travel facilitation, cultural exchange programmes, educational visits and tourism-focused partnerships.
