CRIME-FREE CHRISTMAS: CP BAKORI LEADS POCACOV INITIATIVE WITH SENSITIZATION WALK AGAINST CRIME

The Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, the 47th Commissioner of Police, has organized a sensitization walk against crime as part of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) initiative. This is in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, to dominate the public space against all criminal activities.

POCACOV, a flagship community-oriented program of the Nigeria Police Force, aims to promote preventive policing through public awareness, community engagement, and behavioral change to combat cultism, thuggery, drug abuse, violent crimes, and other social vices.

The sensitization walk, conducted by a combined team of dedicated police officers and civilians POCACOV members, focused on key areas including market places and motor parks, aligning with CP Bakori's directives to prioritize intelligence-led, technology-driven, and community-based policing strategies to enhance security and foster collaboration between the police and the public.

This event underscores the Command's commitment to proactive crime prevention, public safety, and building stronger ties with residents to create a crime-free society in Kano State.

The Command appreciates the participation of members of the public, community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders in the initiative.
