ONDO POLICE ARREST FOUR FOR ASSAULT ON FRSC OFFICERS AND MALICIOUS DAMAGE
The Ondo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that on 16th December, 2025, a distress call was received reporting that officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), led by Fadimo Abiola and deployed to the FUTA axis along the Ikure–Ipetu Road, were being seriously assaulted while performing their lawful duties.
Upon receipt of the report, operatives of the Command swiftly mobilized to the scene, restored calm, and arrested four suspects in connection with the incident.
The arrested suspects are:
1. Olamiju Olayinka – Male, 28 years
2. Olamiju Adeseke – Female, 28 years
3. Olamiju Timileyin – Male, 27 years
4. Toheeb Oluwaseun – Male, 32 years
Preliminary investigations revealed that the FRSC officers were violently assaulted and their properties maliciously damaged in the course of discharging their official responsibilities. The suspects have been charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, psc(+), mnips, strongly condemned the attack on the FRSC personnel, describing it as a grave affront to constituted authority. He warned that the Command will not tolerate any form of assault or obstruction against law enforcement officers and that offenders will face the full weight of the law.
The Commissioner also expressed deep appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for his visionary leadership and continuous support, which have significantly strengthened policing standards and enhanced public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force. He noted that the IGP’s emphasis on robust inter-agency cooperation and collaboration has continued to drive operational success across Ondo State.
In conclusion, CP Adebowale Lawal urged the good people of Ondo State to remain law-abiding and to cooperate with the Police by providing credible information that will aid crime prevention and the protection of lives and property throughout the state.
